Should I change my legal documents, like my will, after I get divorced?

Yes. Once the divorce is made final, don't forget about those legal documents you may have created during the marriage. Take a look at how you have set up your life insurance, powers of attorney, wills, beneficiaries and so forth to make sure that everything is how you want it.  Keep in mind though, if you have minor children, many Illinois judges will require each of you to name your spouse on a life insurance policy for a certain time period, in order to protect the children. These are all things to keep in mind and discuss with your lawyer.
