Do you offer Marriage Counseling as part of Divorce Mediation?

No. Divorce mediation and marriage counselling are completely different. Some people confuse the two since, in some cases, a divorce hasn't been filed yet and the couple are meeting with a professional for assistance in coming to an agreement of sorts. The similarities stop there. A divorce mediatior is going to assume that any marriage counseling a couple wanted was already done elsewhere and that the decision to divorce is pretty much a certainty. The purpose of the mediation is rather to help a divorcing couple structure a settlement with respect to issues such as finances, children, and property. A sucessful mediation will cut down substantially on legal fees and the stress of litigation, making the legal portion of your divorce run much more smoothly. The same holds true for legal separation.

If you are considering legal separation, divorce, or are in the thick of it now and wondering how mediation can help, give me a call at 630 250-8813.
