Do I Really Need To Provide Title Insurance To Sell My House?

A buyer is going to want to make sure that they are getting “clear title”, ownership of the house without any legal problems cropping up later. Most contracts provide a provision which guarantees clear title and title insurance to the buyer. If the buyer is going to be getting a mortgage, the lender will also insist on title insurance to protect the lender’s interest. Typically, the seller pays for insurance to protect the buyer and the buyer pays for the portion which protects the bank.
