BIOGRAPHY

Attorney Carol O’Connor Cadiz is a 1996 graduate of DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, having worked as a Spanish translator for attorneys while attending school. She then started her legal career practicing bankruptcy law until 2000 when she also began representing people in the areas of divorce and real estate. She is licensed in Illinois both in state court and in federal court in the Northern District of Illinois. In addition to helping people in the areas of divorce, child support, custody, home sales, and filing for chapter 7 bankruptcy, she also serves as a “guardian ad litem” to children in disputed custody cases.  Trained in divorce mediation, she offers her services as a mediator to couples who want to resolve their divorce disputes by mediation, when she is not representing husband or wife in the divorce. 

Carol received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign- Urbana with a major in psychology. During her years as an undergraduate, she also studied at University College London (England) and at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (Mexico City, Mexico). She continues to attend legal seminars to keep up with the ever changing legal trends.

Carol was raised bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish, offering full service in both languages. She is half Mexican, half Irish, and her husband is a native of Chile. She understands not only the English and Spanish languages, but both cultures as well.

Formerly a Partner at A. Traub & Cadiz in Lombard, Carol Cadiz is now in solo private practice with offices in Schaumburg and Itasca; serving DuPage County, Kane County, and suburban Cook County Courthouses. She is also proud to participate in the Hyatt Legal Plans and the ARAG Group.
